Season Wrap – 3rd XI

The 3rd XI just missed out on the finals, having lost three of their final four matches to end up two points out of the eight. They went through four captains for the season, as those players anointed to lead continued to press for higher honours during the season.

Joe Doyle was fantastic with the ball, but struggled for consistent support. Nick Trapani had his best year with the bat for the club, ending up gaining a long sought promotion to the 2nd XI for finals. But some of the other more experienced players weren’t able to provide the performances we all know they were capable of, particularly in the second half of the season.

Hamish Burrill, Harrison Goad and Dylan Hodge all got extended chances at the level above, and can hopefully establish themselves as top grade cricketers in the coming season.
