Brought to you by

CHRIS BRIDLE 150 GAMES

Congratulations to Chris 'Killer' 'Bridezilla' Bridle who brought up game 150 for the club last round!

A fantastic achievement for an outstanding servant of the club! Chris has been a Stackpole Medallist back in 2021/22 and a consistent 1st XI player across his time at the Well! Always willing to lend a hand around the club, Chris is a true cricket nuffy!

Chris also brought up his 200th wicket for the club against the Cats, helping us turn the tide in our favour on the way to a big win!

Well done Chris on this incredible milestone and we look forward to more lethal spells in the future!

*Camberwell v Prahran will be the first game of the day*

MCQUEEN FINANCIAL GROUP T20 COMMUNITY DAY

You are all invited to the McQueen Financial Group T20 Community Day on Saturday 30th November. With the 1st XI hosting three T20 games starting at 9:30am, it will be a day jam packed full of cricket, fun and the chance to meet sponsors, players, family and friends of the Pies!

We look forward to seeing as many of you across the day to hopefully celebrate two Magpie victories and the overall success of our club for the Camberwell community!

VIC UNDER 17 REPRESENTATIVES

A massive congratulations to two Pies who were this week named in the Victoria Metro and Country Under 17 squads to compete at the National Championships in Hobart in January!

Jakey Pietz - Victoria Metro U17 Representative

Jobe Fraser - Victoria Country U17 Representative

Go well lads, we will be following you every step of the way!

Welcome to Jack's Q&A Corner brought to you this week by Sherlock Wheelbarrows.

This week, I sat down with the skipper of the magoo's, resident nice guy and kiwi native, Alex Ridley!

1. Being a very skilled swing bowler, who was your cricket idol growing up?

Alex: I was always a big fan of Chris Martin growing up, the headband and the batting ability really summed up the NZ cricket team of the mid 2000s. In all seriousness it's hard to go past James Anderson for someone like myself, I watched videos of him turning batters inside out on repeat.

I don't know why the lead singer of Coldplay is your cricket idol but ohhhhh Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy, he is a favourite of mine too. Could definitely still be playing test cricket too and I see a little bit of Jimmy in the way you swing it round corners!

2. Yourself and Shieldsy have been praised for getting Calvin Harrison to the club but he's decided to stay with Shieldsy over yourself! Why do you think he picked Shieldsy over you?

Alex: This might have something to do with question 5 below, although I'd give any credit for cooking in the Shields household to his fiancee Sam.

Oooo I can't wait for question 5 but cooking is a big factor when it comes to who you stay with. Hopefully Shieldsy offers more chat at the dinner table than he did in his Q&A with me last year.....

3. Congratulations on the 2s captaincy, how are you enjoying it and do you have any advice for me on how to go from not being in the extra large leadership group last year to captain of a side this year?

Alex: Thanks mate, it's been pretty easy so far when the batters make runs for fun and the spin twins can bowl unchanged for sessions. I'm sure it will be very challenging heading into white ball cricket. Advice for any aspiring captains would be to sell their car and get Shaun Prescott to give them rides all the time, you won't get to say much but the little you do might show that you know a thing or two about the game.

Well there's a reason I haven't interviewed Shaun yet, it's cause his answer to question 1 would be longer than the entire newsletter! But love that all the hard yards in the car have paid off in a big way this year! If all it takes is a bit of sucking up to the coach, maybe we can all play 1s! Glad to hear you're enjoying the new role and I personally think you are the perfect man for the job!

4. If New Zealand is a country at this year's around the world night, what would be the Kiwi food and drink of choice? Alex: Hard to go past fush and chups and a cold speight's. Taking the piss out of my accent before Wisey does.

Not the only thing you have to do before Wisey gets into it, just as my unopened packet of snakes found out last year, or my sunscreen, new bat grip, the list goes on! Can't say I've ever tried a Speights so maybe this is the year for NZ at around the world night! The only Speights I know is Marreese Speights who used to play for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA (this is a very niche NBA reference, I do not expect you common folk to get this one).

5. If I come over for dinner what are cooking for me?

Alex: I'd whip you up a nice vegetarian lasagna, living with a vegetarian has forced me to get a bit creative over the years and I feel like the nutritionist in you would enjoy this one.

Firstly, it's dietitian, anyone who does a nutrition unit at uni can be a nutritionist so I'm well above them lol! But that sounds yum, I'm always keen for a vege option, good to mix it up for your gut and honestly you can never have enough veg! Hope you do it with eggplant, maybe some mushies in there too and voila, perfecto!

Thanks to Alex for playing! Who will be next on Q&A Corner? Find out in next rounds newsletter but it might be a very special non playing guest who is very good with his hands! Stay tuned!

Welcome to Tone's Trivia, brought to you this week by Chargrill Charlies! Thankyou for your answers last week!

A massive thankyou to our sponsors Physioworks Health Group & Chargrill Charlie's for their ongoing support of the segment!

Stay tuned for next round to see our top 5 leaderboard!

A reminder that the following prizes are up for grabs:

First Prize: Physioworks Health Group Massage Voucher

Second Prize: Chargrill Charlie's Voucher

Last Weeks Answer - D - None of the Above

The winning runs were scored via a wide. Chris Bridle was on strike and Ben Shields was at the non-strikers end! A tricky one to stop you all from looking it up on PlayHQ!

Round 4 Tone's Trivia - In our 2018/19 fixture against Melbourne, Andrew Fekete was called up for Victorian duties after day 1. Who was promoted to the 1st XI in his absence?

Am really excited about my purchase from Team Jacket Shop. Pelle Pelle Leather Jackets would perfectly suit my search.
