Glen Parker made his debut for Camberwell in the Under 12s and, apart from a stint playing Dowling Shield for Prahran, has been a true Camberwell person ever since.
The 29-year-old has plied his trade in many different roles over the years in the First XI, starting as a middle order batsman where he scored his maiden First XI hundred against Ringwood on Black Saturday, before moving to the role of an opening batsman for a few years and now sacrificing his spot in the batting order to take the gloves and shore up the side’s lower order. It was this sort of flexibility and ‘team-first’ mentality that saw Glen bring up his 100th First XI game for the club in 2015/16, as well as being named in the club’s ‘Team of the Decade (2006-16)’.
Glen is a leader on and off the field having been a part of the club’s leadership group for the past few years, and he still remains a key figure. Off the field, Glen has organised many successful functions including the Magpie Masters Golf Day and Reverse Raffles. He is the consummate professional and clubman, with his contribution to the club celebrated with Life Membership in 2015/16.
